Good and Bad of our vacation

BAD: As I was leaving work the day before we left, I get a call from daycare letting me know Mr. B had pink eye.
GOOD:  I was leaving early anyway and we were able to get an appointment!

BAD: Trying to put $85 eye drops in a squirmy little monkey is VERY HARD.
GOOD: We were successful!! They cleared up fast and a plus was Casey and I could use them if we got it.

BAD: We had to get up early and drive two hours to the airport....even though we live VERY CLOSE to another airport.
GOOD: We saved over $600!!

BAD: Going through security with an infant and my mother-in-law was time consuming.
GOOD:  I'm glad we got to the airport in plenty of time and we were able to relax before having to get on the planes.

BAD: Mr. B was flying as a lap child....meaning he was "free" to wiggle, try to get down and visit other passengers and to just be a handful.
GOOD: He did GREAT and entertained everyone on all the flights!

BAD: Having to be in the car for long periods of time with a little guy that wanted to get out was difficult.
GOOD: We got to see Yellowstone and a lot of other beautiful sights....it could have been worse if we had driven ALL THE WAY out there.

BAD: Being on a trip with others is trying sometimes.
GOOD: It was nice to be able to go on a family vacation.

BAD: Mr. B threw up as we were landing at "home".
GOOD: I wasn't holding him!!

BAD: We got home late and had to unload all of the stuff.
GOOD: I took the next day off too!!

BAD: We wish we had more time to spend with our friends since we do not get to see them very often.
GOOD: It was so nice to be home and back to our normal routine.

Wyoming

We drove to Jackson Hole on Sunday.  It was a terrible trip down as I had not slept well the night before and Mr. B WAS NOT HAVING IT in his car seat.  The Jackson Hole Visitors Center could not come fast enough.  While Renee was finishing up work we looked around.  We went to their house and enjoyed a home cooked meal by Travis.

Mr. B felt the need to "bark" at this "doggie".
Renee had to work on Monday but Travis went with us to do some shopping and to point out interesting things around town.  We enjoyed lunch and then went to see the Grand Teton Mountains and other picturesque scenery.

That night we all had dinner with Erin (Ryan had to work so we saw him the next morning) and finally got to meet Mr. B's new buddy, ER.  We went to a park so the kids could play while we continued chatting.  It was fun to see the boys enjoying each other's company.  I hope we can get together more often so they can become really great friends.

This was the view outside Travis and Renee's home. They have since moved...I guess we will have to make another trip back to see their new house!  We had lunch before we left town on our way back toward Bozeman, MT.  I'm still dumbfounded that the four of us and ALL of our stuff fit in that silver Jeep Compass. They ran out of the car we requested so we got the next best thing...it was awsome to get that upgrade!!

On Tuesday of our vacation it was a special someone's FIRST Birthday. We knew it would have been a long trip for him so we decided to stop half way and spent the night in a hotel. There wasn't a lot of fun options to celebrate, so he did his favorite thing...swimming with his daddy!! He also loved the push-up he ate for his special day treat.

We took a break along the way to the airport to take in more scenic views and to let little man out of his seat...lesson learned along this trip!  Mr. B enjoyed watching the white water rafters and would wave at them as they went by. Only the guides seemed to wave back...I wonder why...maybe because they were the only ones not holding on for dear life!

We arrived at the airport and returned the rental car.  We were informed when we checked in that we had different seat assignments...we were moved to row four.  The BEST ROW EVER...we had tons of room and no one was behind us so we could recline them and not bother anyone!!   How do you entertain a one year old on airplanes....GIVE HIM ICE!!!

It was fantastic to be able to get away and see breathtaking sights!!

Montana

Our family of three and my mother-in-law went to Montana for a family wedding. We flew out on a Thursday morning and arrive at Buck's T4 Lodge in Big Sky that afternoon and had a great time seeing relatives.

On Friday we drove an hour south and spent the day at Yellowstone National Park.  But first we had to switch rooms. As you can see we do not travel light.  We had to move to a room WITHOUT air conditioning...good thing it cooled off that evening or there might have been a BIG PROBLEM!

If you look really close on the left, you can see the grizzly bear we saw from the safety of the car.

Saturday was spent relaxing before the wedding. Mr. B went swimming with E and the some of the other guys.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Cory Cleppe!!

Mr. B enjoyed riding this pony several times.

We stopped at a couple of places at Yellowstone on our way to Jackson Hole.  It is amazing how beautiful it is there!
