Blessed

Casey and I are very blessed to have a strong, healthy, active little boy that we love to death. There may be sleepless nights but not a day goes by that we are not thankful for what we have been given.  There are couples struggling to have children and we are tucking ours in. Other families have sick children in the hospital and ours just had a little ear infection. There are mommy and daddy's out there that have buried their children before their time and we get to play with our son each day.  We pray for all those families that do not get to hold their children tonight.

We will not complain about the "little" things because we have Mister B!!

We're not in Kansas anymore!

I had just got done feeding Mister B when the skies out our window turned ugly. We quickly gave him a shower and got him in his pajammies. We turned on the news and listened to what was being predicted. Just as I heard that it was near our area, the torando sirens started. I picked up some toys, a blanket, and Mister B and headed to the backroom of the basement.

Casey stayed up stairs to continue listening to the weather people and look out the window....what man wouldn't, right?!?! I would rather be safe than sorry. That's why you see my handbag right next to us. My life is in there and if something happens I would like to be able to have insurance cards, money, and of course my camera to take pictures of Mister B!

We passed the time by playing with some of his favorite toys, singing, and just enjoyed some snuggle time before bed except in the cold room downstairs. 

Mister B also met a new "friend"! He had a lot to tell his reflection. That use to be my closet doors when I first moved in to our home.  Hopefully, we will do something with them before we sell our house.  They entertained him for a couple of minutes and helped take my mind off of what might have been happening outside.




We were down there for about a half hour before Casey told us the tornados were out of our area. Mister B was ready for Daddy to rock him for a little while before he had to go to bed for the night.

Thankfully there wasn't any damage in our neighborhood and we all were safe!

Careful what you say!

 I had been up several times last night with Mr. B.  He just didn't want to be in his crib. He crawls to the end and cries as he peeks out at us. We went to lay on the guest bed and he would go right to sleep, put him in his bed...not a happy camper.  I was not sleeping because while he was snoozing there I was so afraid he would roll, ending up on the floor or between the bed and the wall.  I finally put him in his crib and was going to let him cry (not ideal since our neighbors across the street say they can hear him on their baby monitor...OH WELL!!) and went to my bed.  After Mr. B had fussed for awhile I asked Casey if he would just get up and rock him. This is what was said to me...." no, I read your blog, you said it was your mommy job to take care of him".   Don't get me wrong I love taking care of Mr. B BUT sometimes a mommy needs a little rest!! 

For the record, Casey did get up with him BUT who knew he would have such a sense of humor at 3 am. So I need to be careful what I write on here...sometimes it can bite me on the hiney!!

Welcome to Spring!

Today was the first day of Spring!  We went for a walk and Mr. B LOVED it. He can now sit in his stroller without the carseat and he enjoyed taking in all the sights.  It started to rain so it was cut short but we will be getting out more now that the weather is staying nice. 

I ran some errands after our time outside.  I got a few outfits for Mr. B for summer but was having a hard time because I can't believe I am buying 12 months....where is that tiny baby I brought home eight months ago?!?   

On a completely gross note:  Casey and I were eating dinner and he casually mentioned I might what to change Mr.B.  What a MESS...bath and laundry were done IMMEDIATELY!! 

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa D

Mr. B and I went to see my grandparents yesterday.  He slept most of the way up and back with some moments of  "I want out of this carseat" thrown in for good measure!  We all ate lunch at Panera and spent plenty of time playing.  Grandma made some cookies and we kept her company in the kitchen.

Grandpa was busy watching all the basketball games and would keep us updated on the scores. We were sad to see the ISU women lose but we are still proud of their great season.

Went went to see our friend Miss Bette and to take her some freshly baked cookies.  She was happy that we stopped so she could see how big Mr. B had gotten and all the new things he can do.  He even showed her his tooth!

It was fun to get out of town for the day but we were ready to get home.  Casey spent the day clean up the yard and his trucks.  He had the house all picked up also!! Mr. B really missed daddy that he wanted to stayed up late to play.  He finally crashed about nine and I went to bed shortly after.  We can't wait to go up again at Easter and we are going to spend the entire weekend!

There was a surprise!!

Yesterday I was trying to entertain Mr. B before the doctor came in and I sat him on the examining table to patty cake.  He was so happy he showed his toothless grin or so I thought.  I saw the top of that surprise and I immediately shoved my sanitized finger in to feel it.  He was NOT impressed with my excitement but right there on the bottom was what all the chewing was working for. Talk about changing fast, he woke up without and went to bed a proud owner of a tooth....well not too proud as he doesn't like to show it to anyone!!


 He is now sleeping good again but I know that it's going to be short lived because the "one" will probably be getting "friends" soon!

Late Nights

Last night Mr. B and I spent some quality time rocking and walking the hallway in hopes that he could go back to sleep.  My mommy heart just ached trying to comfort him and looking into his little eyes that were saying just help me please.  I can do without the sleep as long as he is getting the care he needs and my job as his mommy is to do just that. I also do not want him to grow up too fast so I will take those late nights to get  more snuggle time with my active little guy that is on the go from the minute he wakes up until he finally drifts into Dreamland at night.


So today it's off to the doctor to see if it was his ears that were bothering him or if he just didn't want to be apart from me!

Update: Yes...Mr. B has his first ear infection!

I took the Blogging Plunge!!

I have been wanting to have a blog for some time and today is the day I finally fulfilled that "dream".  I want to use this to journal our lives so family and friends can see the happenings and the adventures of raising our Wonder Boy...Mister B!!  He has been giving us plenty of stories to tell.


Here's to the start of something good!
