4th of July

We are so lucky to have a parade that goes by close to our house on the night of July 3rd. It's really nice to walk to the end of the block for a night of entertainment. B Man was only interested in the tractors..because the quote of the evening was "MORE TRACTORS, MORE TRACTORS" as the rest of it filed by us....a few pieces of candy kept him in his seat until he saw the next one!!

Too Cool

Hurry up Mommy....people are STARING AT US!!

AHH... a refreshing treat

On the 4th we were going to just stay home and enjoy the day off BUT somehow I talked us into to going to the Urban.dale parade.  Casey works with a gentleman that saved us all a spot.  It was JUST PLAIN HOT and much of the morning was spent in the shade BEHIND everyone watching the festivities. We were stuck there until the end of the procession because we could not get to our car or even if we did all the streets around it were closed. The photo below was taken at 9:00 am....do you see how uncomfortable we look....WHAT WAS I THINKING DRAGGING US OUT IN THAT SAUNA!?!?!

Just smile and then we will head for cover

Needless to say the rest of the day was spent INSIDE watching movies and snacking. We rounded out our holiday by escaping to our favorite 4th of July pizza place...The Taver.n for dinner.

Thank you to all those that have allowed us the Freedom to relax with our families!

Happy Halloween

This year Mr. B was a pilot flying his airplane!!

Before B man headed out, there were some "monsters" wearing masks that came to our house and B told me " I SCARED MOMMY...I SCARED....GO BYE-BYE MONSTERS" while pretending to shake in fear!! They all quickly took their masks off to show him they were friendly kids. Casey and I were both surprised he knew what scared meant AND that he needed actions to get his point across!! We had to wait until they were on the next block before venturing out ourselves.

Let's Go Daddy

Trick or Treat Angela

He would hold up his bucket and tell them TRICK OR TREAT and then told every one of them THANK YOU!!  Everyone LOVED his costume that his "Aunt" Janet helped us out with.

Ready for take off

This was a fun night

"One more time Mommy"

B had a GREAT TIME going to all the houses...though it was kind of a bummer as not many homes near us had their lights on. The Bourke Family was also a little  sad that we didn't get more than a dozen trick or treaters ringing our doorbell this year....I guess that is what happens when the mall does theirs at the same time!

I even had to wear this to my class party

This next photo was sent to me by one of his teachers....

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH THIS KID?!?!?!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Memorial Day

Mr. B and I went to visit my grandparents in Cedar Falls. He spent a majority of his time running around and watching the neighbor mow his lawn...back when Iowa was getting rain frequently and yards needed to be trimmed often. He also played in a bucket of water for a SHORT time...so that would explain the wardrobe change!!

My dad made this nice "wall" around their tree for me to sit on!!!

He is doing a super job over there!!

MY BEST BUDDY!!!

Grandma went to her ladies' coffee that afternoon, so the three of us went to the different cemeteries to pick up the memorial flowers. When we finished Grandpa treated us ice cream at Cold.stone for all our hard work.  Then it was time to go home and see what daddy got done for the day. Casey seems to get more accomplished while we aren't there....I wonder why that is?!?!?

Two of the most loving people in the world with B

He always has a wonderful time seeing his Great Grandpa and Grandma!!

September 11th

Today I'm especially grateful for the men and women that continue to protect our Country...near or far from home. We will never forget the events or those that lost their lives that tragic day.

 ALWAYS REMEMBER!!!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!?!?

The first game of the Iowa State football season started great!! I love afternoon games...but I wish it wasn't so HOT. We decided not to do the RV this year and I think this is going to be a whole lot easier for us....others in our group may not think that. B Man had a fun time running up and down the hill and found plenty to keep himself occupied until the real action began. We are really lucky to sit by some fabulous people that help corral B when he needs to get down and "stretch" his legs.

I'm ready TO GO!!

Good thing I brought my "tractors".

Bags, anyone?!?!

Our annual first game family photo

Waiting for those doors to open

Here comes Coach Rhoads and the ISU Cyclones

This only lasted about twenty minutes

HOORAY...WE WON!!

It's gratifying to have the first WIN of the year!!

( Hopefully this weekend's game against IOWA ends the same way!! )

Mother's Day

Casey surprised me with brunch at Mimi's. Cafe....not the place to take an energetic little boy who was not interested in eating OR sitting in our booth. It was so nice of Casey to try and handle him BUT I have to admit I've never eaten so fast in my life so we could get out of there before his next outburst!! Next we went to get some plants for our house and wandered around looking at all the home improvement gadgets. When we got home my guys continued to spoil me by giving me an external hard drive to put all our photos on... so hopefully no more lost memories from a computer crash!! We finished the day with ICE CREAM!!!

I'm truly blessed to have that charming dude calling me Mommy!!

Sorry for the lack of blogging...

 AS LIFE HAPPENED!!!

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will get updated with what we have been up to since...I don't know....APRIL!! Some posts will have more pictures than others because I've enjoyed everyday life with my son and not my camera. The events may not necessarily be in any sort of order either BUT the memories will still be noted here in the blogosphere for future reference!!

Getting down with his bad self!!

This is just an example of what happens when this kid hears music.....

Downtown Valley Junction at the Farmer's Market was the latest place he showed off his mad dance skills!!

Sorry..I turned the camera and can't get it to post the right direction now but you can still see Mr. B had it going on!!

Stuck in the fence

While having a meltdown on the playground at daycare, Mr. B climbed on the fence... some how getting his legs caught.  After FINALLY figuring out he could escape without my assistance it turned into a fun game!!

Thank you Sharae for capturing this adorable photo on your phone!!

Don't Eat the Cookies!!

I wanted an activity that Mr. B could help me with....so we "made" cookies.  He would simply put them on the cookie sheet, I would put them in the the oven, and then we would enjoy!

As you can see he "helped" LICK each one to make sure they tasted fine before baking.  Good thing he didn't want to share those beauties with anyone!!

Going on an egg hunt

After Mr. B woke up from his nap on Easter Sunday, Casey and I were eager for him to get out there and find those colorful plastic treasure-filled pods!! B on the other hand was NOT interested in picking up ALL 35 eggs that were scattered about the lawn....but he humored us and trucked along as we pointed to each as if it had gold inside...CLOSE....CHOCOLATE!!!

When dealing with a "baby"....
.....you don't REALLY have to hide them!!

This is a good start.

You mean I have to pick them ALL up!!

PINK!!!

Is there something inside this?

Got it!!

This basket is getting HEAVY!!

Another one

Faster Daddy

YUMMY Chocolate!!!

Which one now?

I can't smile...I'm busy eating the good stuff

OKAY..this is the LAST ONE I'm going to get

I'm going to show Jersey ( neighbor's dog) my haul

Aren't we cute!!!

Checking out my loot

What is in here?

ELMO!!!

A bestseller to add to my collection

A duck has lost his head

Now he thinks all of his eggs should be gathered daily and have treats inside!!
