Farmer's Market

On Thursdays we go to the Valley Junction Farmer's Market. We all enjoy eating from the different vendors...B Man LOVES the music and running around with kids! This past week when we arrived the City of W.D. had some of their equipment on display....Mr. B WAS SO EXCITED!!!

Mr. B was SO NOT HAPPY about leaving that after we got home and he was out of the car... he started to yell to me as he is BOLTING down the sidewalk that he was going back to the Farmer's Market!!

Shoe Shopping with Dad

Mr. B was in the need of a new pair of shoes.  I asked Casey if he would mind getting them since he was picking Mr. B up before I got off work.  I had suggested JC. Penny's since that is where I had gotten shoes previously for B Man. I called while on my way home and asked if he was able to find some footwear. He told me they were Nike's and they were red and yellow......that is far from the truth. When I got home they were in the back yard along the far fence and from the door I could see the shoes!!

Here is how the whole shoe experience went down.....

• Casey picked B Man up at daycare....Hooray for Mismatched Day!!
• They went to JC Penny's and spoke with THREE different sales people and still didn't get any help finding the ones requested.
• They left frustrated without shoes and B REALLY NEEDED a diaper change by that point in the adventure.
• On the way to Von Maur, where he knew he could get real help, they passed Foot Locker.
• Casey walked in and asked the F L employee if there were any in little guy's size.
• The Wee One was asked which pair he wanted.
• Mr. B picked out his favorites and didn't want to look at any others.
• Casey was happy because it was Mission Accomplished!!
• After I got home and saw what was purchased and how much they cost... Casey did not expect me to flip out on him....he did what was asked of him...DONE DEAL IN HIS MIND!!
• By this point it was too late to return them as Mr. B LOVED his new "red boots" and he had already wore them home from the store and into the dirt to help dad.
• I figured out sometimes it's not about the price paid but what makes him HAPPY to wear.  Easier on everyone involved!!

I am VERY THANKFUL that Casey took B Man to get new shoes because I wasn't looking forward to this stressful task with the child plus I didn't have to pay for them!!! Casey did a great job getting a pair he would actually put on. I now think Casey needs to go shopping with Mr. B more often and maybe they will buy Mommy something nice also!

Surprising Grandpa Grandpa for his birthday!!

My Grandpa's birthday was on Tuesday so Mr. B and I went up on Sunday morning to surprise them a Village Inn after they got out of church.  Grandma did a wonderful job keeping it a secret from him and our friend Bette.  It was such a gorgeous day and a lot of time was spent outside enjoying the weather.

Big Boy Bed

Casey and I had been talking about switching Mr. B to a big boy bed...I was very hesitant and he was JUST DO IT!!  The first Saturday in February I came to grips with the fact that he was not a baby anymore and so we bought him a twin bed....still plenty of room for "lay me mommy" so I guess I am okay with it!! He loves sleeping on his new Jake and Pirate sheets and having more freedom to roam around his room stretch out on his new mattress!

Good Morning Mommy...first night went AWESOME!!

It has been a work in progress to KEEP him in his bed but I think he is making great strides staying night, night...plus not being able to watch Jake in the morning changes his tune quickly!!  We have also had to threaten point out that if he doesn't stay in bed he will have to go back into his " baby crib" for his own safety. B Man has taken it a step further shouting he doesn't want to go into "baby crib" anytime he is in trouble....we have NEVER told him that he would but if he wants to believe that who are we to change his mind!

St. Patrick's Day

This year his shirt wasn't so "lucky" as he had to spend some time at Urgent care for pink eye.  After some medicated drops and a couple of suckers, it was back to business as usual!

Weekend at Sarah's

The first weekend in December Casey was hunting in Western Iowa and the weather was going to be NICE...like temperatures in the 50's....so Mr. B and I took a journey to visit my friend Sarah in Eldridge. After eating lunch the three of us were off to see B Man's reason for "agreeing" to tag along....TRACTORS at John Deere in Moline.  The ladies' perk was he "let" us wander around aimless at the malls gossiping.

 

My wonderful trip was filled with shopping, chatting with a dear friend, and great food! B's highlights were using the new DVD player in the car, riding rides, and of course climbing in tractors!!!  Since we both had such an awesome time we are hoping to go back again REALLY SOON !!
