Visiting Friends

Last Wednesday, I had some comp time to use and Mr. B also had his nine month well child appointment that afternoon...so we used the day to visit friends!!

We went to visit Daddy at his work.  His co-workers loved seeing Mr. B since the last time he was there he was four days old....he's a little bigger now.

We then headed to get the oil changed in my car and we decided to walk over to chat with Becky at the branch while we waited.  It was a cool day so I got my work out pushing him against the wind in his stroller.

We had lunch with Deb at Olde Main.  She was excited to meet Mr. B for the first time.  We also ran into "Aunt" Janet on her way to move her car...sorry no picture with her.

We made a stop at my office to catch up with my work peeps.

Moris took time to play with me...

he has really cool stuff in his office.

Here I am being nice to Cheryl...later not so much!

Even Fred got to hold me for awhile.

Hey... I think I see me up there on the wall!

After having a bottle and getting freshened up we went to his appointment....that will be a later post.

We had a great day together!!!

Easter Weekend

Mr. B and I head to Cedar Falls on Saturday to spend time with my family while Casey was busy at home.  After we had lunch at my grandparents' house.  My mom, niece Jordan, Mr. B, and I went shopping. Our first stop was Old Navy to get Jordan some flip flops.  While we were paying the following conversation took place....

Old Navy Sales Gal: Would you like some free cereal?
Me: Sure.
ONSG: Would you like a lot of free cereal?
Me: Okay?
ONSG: Would you like an entire box of cereal?!?!?
Me: Um...Okay??? (said with much hesitation, like what is this girl trying to get us to do)
ONSG: Great, here you go!!!
Me: Thank you???

DO NOT ASK ME WHY but there before us was a big box of cereals....as in 80 sample size boxes of cereals.  We were committed to taking it since she handed it to me with such enthusiasm and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. What had we gotten ourselves into!!  We sent Jordan to the car with it and did the rest of our mall shopping.

Everyone at Easter dinner the next day was so "excited" to get about six little boxes to take home and enjoy themselves.

After getting checked in at the hotel we all went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse.  Mr. B was busy looking around and entertaining everyone.

Hello everyone

While we were getting the finally things for Easter Sunday at Hy-Vee and Target,  Mr. B took at little nap. BIG MISTAKE!!  When he woke up about eight, we got him ready to go swimming with Grandpa.  This time he didn't have a good time and  just cried.  Another thing he DID NOT like was having to take a bath instead of a shower with daddy.  He managed to get squeaky clean anyway. We played for a bit  and then TRIED to get him to wind down for bed.  At 11 pm after listening to him whine "da, da, da" for the past hour, I finally got a hold of Casey and he talk to Mr. B.  There wasn't much talking on our end just lots of smiles and looking/grabbing the phone but he did settle down enough that he would lay by me and ended up falling asleep at 11:30.  The crib was not the best and had REALLY high sides, so it wasn't very easy to get him into it while he was sleeping....note to self bring pack and play next time!!

After a restless night, we were all up to go to church.  Mr. B and I took my grandparents to church with us.  I dropped them off and parked the car.  Meanwhile, they found a spot,  in the MIDDLE of the row and I thought this is not going to work if he gets loud during the service.  This young man behind us was there with his grandma and his parents and was very friendly with Mr. B....as in talking to him and getting him excited that he was laughing.  That guy was going to get us all in trouble!!   Mr. B does really good so it wasn't a problem and we made it through without any interruptions.  SIDE NOTE: The young man's grandma must have been  trying to hook him up with someone from church because she was telling him "that gal" was going to be there, not at that service but the next one....had he spoken to her??  He didn't answer her.  I'm thinking  BACK OFF Grandma...I think he can handle his own dating affairs!!

I dropped off my grandparents and Mr. B at their house since he was sleeping and I was going to get things from the hotel.  It was easier to have him take a good nap there and not be taken in and out of the car several times.  He had woke up by the time I got there so you know what that means...PHOTO TIME!! Mr. B was not as thrilled as I was to get him posed.  I have fond memories of having my picture taken in these same spots with my siblings and cousins when I was little...I didn't want him to miss out on that!!

He dug into his new things for Easter.  I have no idea why he adores Sponge Bob...he also LOVES to watch the weather!!  Must be the bright colors.

Before everyone got to my grandparents' house for lunch he played with some PEEPS. He certainly liked to squish them.  He was thinking what are these things and why is this stuff getting all over me.

We had a great time with family but we were ready to get home to see Daddy!!

Technical difficulties

Due to technical difficulty posts are being delayed!! Sorry to those that signed on in hopes of seeing pictures of Mr. B today. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I can grant your wishes. Just know he is still getting into everything like the ornery little dude he aspires to be!!

Last Weekend

I better give you LAST weekend's updates before THIS weekend gets here!!! ( I'm cutting it real close as it starts TOMORROW!!)

On Friday, I had my work's annual meeting so Casey and Mr. B just hung out at home and did some "guy" things. Saturday I was hoping that that the weather people were wrong and that it really was going to be warm and sunny instead. GUESS NOT...they were 100 % right this time, windy, cold, and rainy. I was so bummed that we didn't get to go to the VEISHA parade or the ISU spring game.  Trust me, we are not fair weather fans.  There have been many games where it has been miserable and there we sit...FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHTing for Iowa State!!  It just wasn't worth it to take Mr. B out in the elements as he was still trying to get better. We had a great day of playing inside and  Mr. B had a ball getting into new things!!

I see you in there

I almost have it...

HI Mommy!!

On Sunday, we went to Bass Pro Shop because there was someone we thought Mr. B would like to meet and Casey wanted to buy some new hunting boots with a gift card he had.

We are on our way now.

Mr. B wasn't scared of the bunny. He looked at it like " what are you" and turned around and put his hands behind his head like he was the stud sitting on the bunny's lap. I didn't get a picture of him high fiving him but it was really cute also. I was glad that he wasn't traumatized over the adventure because the kids before him were not having anything to do with the bunny. We would have hauled out of there and not did the pictures if he was upset.
He looks okay to sit with.
I have ears too!

What would be a trip to Bass Pro without looking at the fish and other "animals".  Mr. B really liked looking at the fish swimming by him.

Don't get my hands...

Okay, let's get a closer look!!

What is that animal, Daddy?
He thought we might need a new chair at our house....good thing he was wearing "safety" orange.  I think this might have to wait until we have a "man cave"...it would go perfect in there and not in my current family room!

We should TOTALLY get this....

.....but NOT these!!!
We tried our hand at the rifle area also. Good thing Casey is the one out there doing the hunting because I couldn't hit anything.  I think Mr. B and Daddy will have fun in several years hunting together.

This looks fun
Casey was able to find the boots he was looking for and he even bought me some apple licorice and taffy!!

Hooray Daddy found his boots!!
Look at me...I am standing by myself!!
After our adventures at Bass Pro Shop we head to lunch at Smokey D's BBQ.  They have won many awards including being  the winners of BBQ Pitmasters on TLC...our own famous place here in town!! The food was good and Casey said that is where he wants to go for Father's Day.  Then we went home to enjoy the afternoon filled with naps, laundry, and TONS of playing!!

ICKY SICKIE!!

It all started on Thursday night when Mr. B would wake up every two hours whining. He felt a little warm but not enough that he had to stay home from daycare. Plus I figure we could just snuggle this weekend. Friday night was the same but his temperature went up and by this time Casey was also sick.  On Saturday I had to go to a memorial service so while I was gone they both slept for a couple of hours. That night his fever got above 102 degrees (even after Tylenol), he hadn't really ate anything since Wednesday night, was gurgling, wheezing, had a runny nose, was drooling a lot and seemed to be having trouble breathing and of course having a hard time sleeping. On early Sunday morning I convinced Casey that we needed to go to the ER.  When we got there his temperature had gone down little but she could hear that his breathing was a little labored. They suctioned his nose and tested him for RSV and the flu. They both came back negative. I know I jumped the gun because it really wasn't an emergency but I had a feeling something was wrong.  He has never acted like that before so I was scared for him. I REALLY need to find an Urgent Care center so I don't go to the hospital unless it is a true emergency.

I was reading one of his favorite books to help him cheer up!

When we got home he took a little nap but his temperature was above 102 again after taking Tylenol. We snuggled and tried to keep him comfortable.  I called my mom on Sunday night to wish her a happy birthday and asked if she could spend Monday with him because he would not be able to go to daycare.  She met us at my work that morning so she didn't have to leave her home as early.  Also he woke up feeling better as he was getting into things just like the old Mr. B. They had a great time playing. That night we took her to Red Robin for a birthday dinner. My mom said that she would put the monitor in her room so that we could try to sleep since I hadn't really slept much in the past five days. Everytime she got up with him, Casey or I also seemed to be awake at that same time. So it didn't really work like it was planned but she insisted on giving him a bottle every time because he needed to catch up on all the "meals" he missed .

Thank you Grandma Sandi for taking care of me!!

Grandma Sandi took our little Mr. B to daycare today!!  We are so thankful that he feels better now and that my mom was able to come and help us out!

Big Flirt

On Saturday my mom came down to bring some donations to the Ronald McDonald House.   While she was in town Casey and I had a chance to get away for a couple of hours. We went to Scheel's because he wanted to look at some things for his elk hunting trip later this year and I bought some taffy... I had to eat a couple to make it through the rest of our shopping trip.  After walking around the rest of the mall we head to lunch at Bang Bang Mongolian Grill...it's like Hu Hot but way better!! I didn't know that chips and queso were part of the Mongolian cuisine but they were tasty. We were so full when we left that I so glad we need to get somethings at the LARGE Target store.  We bought Mr. B this fun riding/walking toy...I think he likes it!!  Mr. B and Grandma Sandi had a great time...Thanks again Mom!!

On Sunday after Casey worked in the yard because it was so beautiful, we went over to some friends' house for dinner with a couple of families.  It was nice to get together.

Mr. B was so excited to see his girlfriend he couldn't keep his hands off  her... her big brother and parents are very  protective of their little angel.  He just wanted to be next to and look at her all night except when she was crying and than it was "what is wrong with her!?!!??"

Mr. B is behaving himself with Big B and Little B!! I bet he is thinking it will be a long 18 years before their first date but it will be worth it because she is such a pretty, petite gal!!
